Ever since I watched The Grand Budapest Hotel, I've had only one question on my mind. How do I get a room there? I can't be the only one – who wouldn't want to stay in a pink palace with its own army of loyal, purple-suited staff? Once you start dreaming of marble-tiled thermal baths and chandelier-strung lobbies, that bargain Airbnb right by the airport begins to lose its charm.
Unfortunately for those desperate to sleep under M. Gustave's roof, The Grand Budapest Hotel doesn't actually exist. Wes Anderson took over an abandoned shopping centre in Germany for the location of the film, with all sets removed at the end of the shoot. Even the signature pink frontage was only a set piece.
But don't despair! From Havana to Prague to London, there are hotels all over the world which have the glamour, charm and aesthetic of our favourite fictional abode. From pink palaces to art nouveau arches to glass-domed walkways, we've found the perfect hotels for anyone who fancies bedding down with Wes Anderson (figuratively, of course).
Corinthia Hotel Budapest, Budapest
Wes Anderson has officially denied that this was the inspiration for The Grand Budapest Hotel and that the similarities are purely a coincidence.
Really, Wes?
Really?
You can find flashes of Mendl's pink everywhere in this Parisian hideaway.
The bedrooms are perfect places to think pink.
This hotel in the heart of Havana may be a long way from the Republic of Zubrowka...
...but we think M. Gustave would approve of this stained-glass dome.
Wes has said that this 18th-century Czech pile and its surroundings inspired not only his hotel, but the whole country of Zubrowka.
With a lobby like this, who wouldn't be inspired?
If a British Navy submarine can be called Boaty McBoatface, could we please vote to rename this art deco gem Wes Anderson Island?
Have you ever seen gates so chic?
Where's a lobby boy when you need one?
It may be paler than The Grand Budapest Hotel, but this frontage is equally impressive.
If any hotel could compete with The Grand Budapest for drama, it just might be this one. Historically, the Hotel Metropol Moscow has been under siege by The Red Guard, served as the residence of Soviet leaders and been the location of speeches by Lenin and Trotsky.
Remind you of a certain fictional hotel?
Any fictional hotel at all?
If you've ever wanted to know what The Grand Budapest Hotel would look like with a lick of green paint, here you go.
Perch at the bar and order a bottle of Pouilly-Jouvet ‘52...
...or two.
These thermal baths are perfect for anyone who wants a full Grand Budapest Hotel spa experience (the 1930s version, of course – no bathing caps required).
Is that Madame Céline in the lobby? We hear she's dynamite in the sack.

Live in the lap of luxury at this Californian castle.
We can't guarantee you'll find Wes Anderson by the pool, but that bunting makes us think he would be very happy here.
London's very own Savoy was the first bar in Europe to serve American-style cocktails, back in 1893. To help with their guests' hangovers, they also invented the Prairie Oyster, an utterly unappetising combo of raw egg, tomato juice, Tabasco, vinegar and Worcestershire sauce.
We would rather soothe our hangovers in the world-famous spa, though, thanks all the same.
